St. Bridget's Division 4 Monmouth County, Catherine Dean Scholarship Winner.
Catherine Dean was the first president of the division. In her honor, the scholarship is awarded annually to a student who has demonstrated academic accomplishments, dedication to community service and excellence in writing skills. One of the application requirements is submission of a composition based on a topic which is different each year. The 2018 topic was ‘Influential Women in Irish History’. Declan researched multiple female candidates before selecting one for his composition. Based on his research, Declan became appreciative of Sheehy-Skeffington’s accomplishments. She played a key role in the movement for women's rights in Ireland during the early 19th century. Declan is a 2018 honor roll graduate of Mater Dei Prep in Middletown. During 12th grade Declan completed college level classes through Seton Hall University and Brookdale Community College. His resume exemplifies a student who successfully balanced school, sports and volunteer work throughout his high school years. Declan plans to use his scholarship winnings towards his expenses at St. John's University in New York where he is enrolled for the Doctor in Physical Therapy Program.

St. Bridget's Division 4 Monmouth County, Fall 2018 Clothing Drive
The semiannual clothing drive was a huge success!! We want to publicly acknowledge all of those who donated to the Saturday, October 20th drive as well as those who helped with the delivery of the items. The contributions allowed the division to donate the funds to allow one teen member of St. Catharine's Youth Group to attend Camp Veritas. The camp is a Catholic non-profit organization exclusively for the purpose of inspiring and forming young Catholic teens into disciples of Jesus Christ. The camp provides a one week sleep away pilgrimage experience for teens going into 7th grade through 12th grade (ages 12-18). Every person involved with Camp Veritas is entirely volunteer. Pictured are members of the LAOH (Maureen Winski, President, Marie McMackin, Maryellen O'Halloran, Vice President) and affiliates of the St. Catharine Youth Group, including teen volunteers, who helped with the loading of the collection truck.
